Thyroid Scan TC99M

PATIENT PREPARATION FOR THYROID SCAN (Tc04)

No Fasting required.

Please bring the following:
b.1. Previous exams (Ultrasound of thyroid or neck, Biopsy) if any

Water and Soda Crackers (Skyflakes, Fita etc.)

Discontinue thyroid medications:______________________________________

Corresponding amount of radioisotope will be forfeited in case of same day cancellation and/ or no show. The procedure is allowed to be rescheduled if the patient or relative informs the department two (2) days before the procedure. A late of 2 hours or more will be considered NO SHOW.

RADIATION PRECAUTION: Please avoid close contact with pregnant women and children below 13 years of age for at least 24 hours.

Thyroid Uptake and Scan

PATIENT PREPARATION FOR THYROID SCAN (I-131)

2 hours Fasting

Please bring the following:
1. Previous exams (Ultrasound of thyroid or neck, Biopsy) if any

Previous exams (CT scan, MRI, Biopsy, Ultrasound, Bone Scan) if any

Extra underwear or diaper

No CT scan w/ contrast at least 24 hours prior to procedure.
