As the nation celebrates the 50th year of National Nutrition Month, it has never been more crucial for everyone in society to support the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN) 2023-2028.
The Nutrition Month campaign aims to increase consumer demand for healthy diets and improve access to adequate, age-appropriate, nutrient-dense, diverse, safe, and sustainable foods. The PPAN, which includes nutrition interventions across all life stages, emphasizes the need to educate families and communities on proper nutrition.
In celebration of the 50th Nutrition Month, themed “Sama-sama Sa Nutrisyong Sapat Para Sa Lahat,” the Dietary Services of the Angeles University Foundation Medical Center, after overcoming the “challenges” posed by the pandemic, once again opened its doors to participate in promoting proper nutrition and raising awareness about various lifestyle diseases. This was achieved through a two-day celebration held on July 15 and 16.
Several activities, such as free Body Mass Index analysis and free dietary consultations, were provided by our nutritionists and dietitians. In cooperation with our nutritional partners—Westmost Philippines, Zuellig Pharma/Multi, Nestle Philippines, Excelsis Pharma, Otsuka Philippines, and Yakult Inc.—we distributed free samples of milk, Yakult, Pocari Sweat, and other freebies. Our patients also enjoyed discount coupons for Nestle products. Additionally, a roving mascot cheered up our clients.
The lively event was attended by employees, relatives, and patients. Although the celebration was brief, we achieved our goals, and we look forward to organizing a more interactive, fun-filled, and informative event in the future.
